The weather is perfect at this time of year and you will find the shops open and ready for business after the cold winter months and before the hot summer days when, especially during August, you will find many of the shops closed because many of the locals take their holidays at this time.

If you are interested in the top designer names like Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Armani, Gucci and Versace then you need to head for the Quadrilatero d’Oro (Golden Quarter). For those of you who are on a lower budget there is something for all fashion lovers in Milan. The streets are lined with small boutiques with beautiful clothes by new up and coming designers and there are also discount outlets of the big names where you should be able to find a bargain or two.

Since you are already in Milan you might be interested in visiting the more alternative designer district called Isola. Even if the clothes are too wild for you it is definitely worth a look.

And of course once you have shopped till you dropped put on one of your new outfits so that you fit in with the fashionable locals and treat yourself to an ice-cream at a good old-fashioned Gelaterie and don’t forget to visit Navigli which is the atmospheric canal area where you can find pizzerias, bars, cafes or restaurants, whatever you are looking for.
